I am currently a Dual Credit Psychology teacher at Ball High School, where I also serve as the Assistant Athletic Director/Girls' Coordinator/Head Volleyball coach. I've been a teacher/coach here since 2013. Prior to that, I earned my Masters in Psychology and was working toward my LPC certification, when some health issues that my son was facing caused me to put that on hold. I enjoyed working in various therapeutic settings, the most recent which was the Teen Health Clinic run by UTMB, which provided services to anyone under the age of 22 in Galveston County at a number of school campuses in the county. I anticipated my break to only be for a year or two, but found myself fortunate to teach a subject that I love and coach a sport that I love, so I've remained in this position ever since.

My son, Devon, is now 24. I remarried in 2021 and through this union with my husband Mike, inherited 2 amazing teen bonus-daughters, Mya and Mia. Mya lives with us, but Mia lives in California with her mom. We have 4 dogs -- King, Major, Cash and El Chapo. Other than that, I spend my time doing as many volleyball-related activities as I can, and when I'm not doing that, I'm usually watching some sort of crime-related show or documentary.

I hope you enjoy this course. I haven't taught online since Covid and really prefer face-to-face, but I know how much more convenient online courses can be.
